RNC grandson is 'round the clock.....

preparing for the inauguration. No family member or friend has accepted a free ticket for the event. Typical hotel price is $4000 for a 4 night stay. Restarants are runored to demand outrageous prices. Grandson hasn't offered a grandparent a free ticket. There's 3 of us. He has us pegged as poor. It never crossed my mind a family member would be event planner for the inauguration for a US president, let alone one I voted for. I never dreamed I'd have a grandchild with a degree in political science. This is wierd!!!

Maybe reach out to all the Oklahoma Congressional reps and see if they have a block of rooms saved that are cheaper or if anyone has any rentals that are available? Tell them who your son is.

If I knew anyone that lived within an hours drive that could help I would try to help.

What about renting a large RV for a week and driving up? Sleep, shower, cook and eat out of the RV. Maybe that would still be too expensive. Use Ubers. But maybe if you flew in to a place like Pittsburgh, etc… Train might be cheaper? And if you pick up the RV closer to DC it would be cheaper?

Trying to be creative, and that might not be your idea of fun.

Nothing cheap right now, especially for travel.

Maybe reach out to all the Oklahoma Congressional reps and see if they have a block of rooms saved that are cheaper or if anyone has any rentals that are available? Tell them who your son is.
