Just remembered his was the first autograph I ever got. He was used to signing the top of the bill of a cap and I had seen my peers get the under side signed when getting an autograph. He said you want this under here where no one can see it??
I looked for the Hoyt Axton story of Mel and Roger Miller, when their hotel room got robbed. It an hilarious story. Could only find it where you had to pay.
One of the coolest things about Mel was his comfort making fun of his own stuttering.
