Can someone ask him to not eat the mic or not to call a match with a bite of hamburger in his mouth? That guy is so difficult to listen to and understand that I just turn the radio off.Of course after I yell” move your mouth away from the mic!”

Its too late, he's not gonna change. :(
But we could just get some young announcers that know what they are doing.

There were a couple weeks that I couldn’t even understand a single question during the coaches show

I have thought this for several years.I know he is not the best out there but just moving his mouth away from the mic would do wonders.

I know it’s way down the list, but it’s not good for our program with how televised it’s going.

This is something that has to change to grow our audience. I’ve heard the most comments about him regarding negativity and our program....and it’s always eating on the mic.

He’s fine. I like him because he’s familiar. But he’s not a wrestling specialist like many announcers are. He can call it how he sees it, not a lot of analysis going on though.

He’s not fine, he actually upsets people when they try to listen to him.

If he would take some instruction on manners and or proper sound checks with enunciated speech...yes, he’s actually entertaining.

Different strokes I suppose. I’ve never had trouble understanding him. 30+ years of listening to him on multiple sports. Maybe that familiarity makes it easier to understand him. He does kind of sound like an AM radio, always lol

Oh, I like him too! I realize I came off as harsh...but candid was actually the intention.

I also have zero problem understanding him other than when he is almost certainly eating on the air. Which, I hate listening to people eat, so that does bother me.

I am just saying this is one area that people complain about and it needs to be remedied. Whether that be him in renewed form or somebody else?

Nomnomnomnom

He should at least let us know what he’s snacking on

He isnt great. Not sure who has control over this situation though. Is it the wrestling program or the network he works for? Maybe its an equipment issue. I have listened to a few of the john smith radio shows and it could be a mix of the microphone and fuzzy's. Its a loud resturant so he probably feels like he has to talk into it to be heard.

I'm ok with Rex on the play by play, but I would like to hear a former wrestler doing the analysis.

I've watched a few other duals and it's interesting to hear them mix in team & room stories while they are also explaining the technique.

J. Carl does a nice job when he is on there. Wonder what determines when he is/is not included
