Fogler Coached at South Carolina. MB played at South Carolina.
I felt this all pointed to a potential conflict in the “search firm’s” efforts regarding the search when MB emerged as a serious candidate.
Or, did Holder hire Fogler as cover to hire a Coach that had never been a HC at any level and for Fogler to provide the opinion from a respected “search firm” that MB was qualified?
I mentioned this back then, and no one seemed to care, which is fine. Hire made, he won the press conference, let’s go win.
I am not going to make a BFD out of now, but in hindsight does it now bring questions about the independence of the search process? It seemed a little wonky to me.
