This is Ben Shapiro writing this. On Dailywire.com. Both generally pro-Trump until now. I know I've seen Ben Shapiro tweets and dailywire.com posted here by our more Trumpyish posters here so "fake news" isn't a valid response.

Will some his base turn on him if he does this? I have little doubt NZ won't like this one bit. Very, very interesting.

"On Tuesday, the Trump administration signaled that its willingness to legislatively reinstate President Obama’s executive amnesty was deeply serious. In fact, the administration is so serious about reinstating the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program that President Trump won’t even insist on Democrats giving him funding for his proposed border wall in exchange for DACA’s revivification.

White House legislative director Marc Short spilled the beans in a speech before reporters at a Christian Science Monitor event. He stated, “Whether or not that is specifically part of a DACA package or a different legislative package, I am not going to prejudge here today.” Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), a radical leftist, immediately praised the Trump administration’s willingness to surrender on its signature issue: “That’s an important position because we cannot make a 2,200 mile wall a condition for passing the DREAM Act and we’ve been very clear from the start.”

That means that the grand strategic move supposedly undergirding Trump’s support for DACA was never a grand strategic move: Trump wants Obama’s executive amnesty in place, and the wall simply isn’t a priority.

That’s a far cry from Trump’s campaign rallies, where he pledged over and over again to “BUILD THAT WALL.” Now, it’s “LEGALIZE THOSE DREAMERS,” the exact Jeb! Bush position.

Democrats understand that they now have almost complete leverage over Trump. Thanks to Trump’s unilateral decision to cave to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) over the debt ceiling and the budget, Trump has set up a fiscal cliff scenario for the end of December — which means that Democrats will use all of their leverage in order to prevent Trump from achieving his most popular objectives with his base. In other words, the chances of a wall are growing ever more slim...

...But coverage of Trump’s willingness to trade away the border wall for amnesty for DREAMers is significantly lacking on Trump-friendly outlets. Perhaps that’s because it’s becoming more and more clear that allegiance to Trump has little to do with his policy prescriptions, and more to do with his general anti-establishment attitude. The problem is that without any guiding principles, that attitude will lead Trump and his followers wherever Trump sees fit to go. And right now, Trump sees fit to swivel dramatically to the Left."

IS TRUMP TURNING IN TO A UNIPARTY GLOBALIST? EVEN WORSE...A NEW YORK, SHUMER STYLE, LEFTIE DEMOCRAT?

Developing.

Stay tuned.

Question: Is this real or is this one of those 'trial balloon' leaks that are common in government to see how the backlash is? If its real, I'll be dissappointed. Not because I think we need to evict every Dreamer. I think that's unrealistic. But I do think that we have to have a strategy implemented towards securing our Southern border prior to doing so, and I do believe a wall (of some sort) should be part of that strategy.

which i think trump can sell a wall as such after dreamers get legislated into our country

Shapiro isn't pro Trump and really never was. He was a borderline never trumper in fact. Not saying this story is wrong but he's definitely not a loyal Trump fan.

I reviewed his articles on Dailywire and his tweets. He certainly isn't anti-Trump.

This was the most telling point in the whole article to me:

"..But coverage of Trump’s willingness to trade away the border wall for amnesty for DREAMers is significantly lacking on Trump-friendly outlets. I see a lot of validity in that personally. For many Trumpies, it has little to do with his policies. It has lots to do with some weird hero worship fetish. They are the opposite side of the coin of Obamaites or Hillarians.

he is a hero

Why were you thinking about me at 7:36 in the morning?

That's more than a little creepy.

Not nearly as creepy as your Jewish conspiracy fetish. In fact, not creepy at all.

7:36am, already in the office for an hour....saw that article....you are probably the biggest beloved Dear Leader worshipper on the site....also one of the biggest anti-immigration/get them all out of the country proponents on this board...I knew it would cause you extreme cognitive dissonance...

And I was worried for you.

I don't want to see anything bad happen to you.

Even though you are a loon...you're our loon.

Who the hell is operating JDs handle?

Just channeling my inner Drudge Report.

it's click bait to rouse and shame trump supporters for their fettish

Maybe some of the more fetishistic Trump worshippers. I have no truck with reasoned Trump supporters. Hell, I support a good chunk of his agenda.

It doesn't matter much.

They can pass whatever laws they want and people won't follow them. States and cities will only enforce what they feel like enforcing. The feds have had their nuts cut off as far as domestic policy. The only thing across the board that is enforced unilaterally are taxes.

This country needs a wake up call.

I agree with this. I'd argue its almost to the point that it would probably be in the country's best interest to divide itself into a multitude of separate countries (similar to Europe).

The wall is not going to happen anyway. Trump might as well get something out of the situation. i.e. agree to trade his support for it for something else he wants. I'm a bit surprised that what he wants is the DACA program.

Why in the world would you trust either Chuck or Nancy?

Agree with you aix_xpert, time to Balkanize. College Park MD's city council just passed a resolution to allow non-citizens, green card holders etc to vote in local elections. Sure fire way to keep liberals/dems in office forever. It is simply a free fall and the federal government is more useless than the book covers on The Hildabeast's new book.

I'm starting to get selfish and just want a tax break, at least I can pad my 401K more and if the circumstances warrant move on someday. Politicians are the worst and most useless parasites on the plant, whores for money, attention, adulation and re-election. No wonder they can't agree on anything unless it encompasses ladling some goodies to their constituents backs home or with an eye to some future move with even more national prominence. A Pox on all their houses.

Ben Shapiro a Trump supporter?

I thought anti-Trumpers claim Trump is or supports Nazis. Shapiro is Jewish. An Orthodox Jew.

I thought anti-Trumpers claim Trump supports the alt-right. According to New York Magazine "Shapiro is frequently a target of the alt-right".

*From the WaPost "Ben Shapiro, a conservative writer...who does not support Trump".
*Ben Shapiro has a highly watched YouTube video titled "Donald Trump is a Liar".
*Ben Shapiro in March 2016, "I will never vote for Donald Trump".

If he is a Trumper, he sucks at it.

New The wall is not going to happen anyway.
I'm one who thinks the wall is grandiose costly stupidity and it's bad for animals. The human traffickers will find a way over or under it in less than 2 weeks.

Enforcing the laws of the land is a great start. Stopping the bullshit catch and release into the US is brilliant. When illegals realize that the mere landing on US soil isn't a viable path to "immigration," they'll stop paying the shitheads who get them here to get them here. Paying someone $10K to deliver you across the US border only to find yourself back in Mexico the very same day will become a terrible investment people will stop making.

The answer isn't a physical barrier. The answer is removing the incentives to immigrate illegally, including this bullshit of sanctuary cities. Immigrate illegally? Bye. We have a legal path for immigration and it's the only path that will lead to success. All other paths are blocked by enforcement of the law.

Will you view a signing of a DACA codification or an endorsement of some type of DACA program become law as a betrayal?

Will you turn on him if he does?

nz got nowhere else to go and that's ok, pretty soon all these snowflakes will get over their feelers and hopefully begin to embrace good policy

Yes

And yes

But I don't think he's going to do it. Trump has a long memory, and in his own words, he "always gets revenge."

Right now, the group who is betraying the American people (and Trump) the most are the GOP establishment.

If he promotes anything similar to amnesty there's very little chance he gets elected.

Republican establishment should be drooling at the prospect. Unfortunately they will trot out a handful of halfwits to run against him if they have the courage to try.

So how do you guys feel about this:
WASHINGTON — Democratic leaders on Wednesday night declared that they had a deal with President Trump to quickly extend protections for young undocumented immigrants and to finalize a border security package that does not include the president’s proposed wall.

The Democrats, Senator Chuck Schumer and Representative Nancy Pelosi, said in a joint statement that they had a “very productive” dinner meeting with the president at the White House that focused on the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. “We agreed to enshrine the protections of DACA into law quickly, and to work out a package of border security, excluding the wall, that’s acceptable to both sides,” they said.

IMO NZ (an others) see Trump as a useful tool in support of their agenda - the moment Trump is no longer useful, by his own actions or some externality (read impeachment or resignation) they will find another to pick up the torch...

My take on it is that NZ and those like him view Trump with a near messianic fervor. He is the chosen one...the anointed. Some of the language he uses is too worshipful for him to be viewing Beloved Leader as nothing more than a tool.

There will be tears before, during, and after the "break up" if DACA is passed and he signs it.

it's really very simple...whatever comes of the border, daca, etc. will be better than the half ass chaotic situation we have now. The border is already better even without a wall and I'm sure this daca crap will get resolved and be better than it is now. It doesn't take much to do better than obama. pretty low bar set by him for 8 years. It just takes time to unravel all the crap he pulled for so long...it will take trump 8 years to make a dent in it...well, maybe more than a dent. I don't think he cares about republican or democrat, just make things where they make sense and make them better for everyone. He'll need a little guidance with that as he's used to being able to do things just on his decisions alone. It's like every negotiation...you always throw things in there with the full knowledge those items won't make it through the process but the other side feels like they win when they kick those items out. It's a tough road.

now this mealy mouthed do nothing coward
after getting his knuckles wrapped last week

When defining "far right" -- I suggest you consider these two stories from the last 24 hours.

And this recent announcement.

Note that 44 million Americans (children of taxpayers) have a combined 1.4 trillion in student loan debt.

so all the dreamers who were demonstrating their ignorance last week when trump pushed daca to congress so their status could be made into law instead of at the behest of executive order

now get to thank trump

ryan and mcconnell who can't get shit done with a majority all the sudden find the energy to bring wall funding to the press

fake tears and pelosi? what can they say?

we can't work with this man?
he's racist?

What do you mean by "far right?"

Be specific....

nz i don't wanna get into a discussion with you about your views or where you sit on the political fault line

so i'm gonna retract and apologize for putting you by name into a far right classification

fair enough?

your first story i have no problem with the cal admin voicing their concerns, they are in charge of high testoerone kids in a powder keg environment that the administrators did nothing to create, but do have to operate in.

the headlines do a great job of rousing the ignorant masses in much the same way the media trolls go to charlotsville and create a wave of history eradication.

nobody in folsom is wiping their ass with the stars and stripes...

the second tweet is piss ignorant obamatard america at its best, and won't stand in court

the third about the U, what's wrong with daca kids getting an education? the illegal immigration floodgates were wideass open on W's watch, those kids are here, i've coached those kids, employed those kids so and now there going to college.

america needs to grow up and get over it.

i'm not for a rose bowl full of mexicans who live in the states cheering for mexico, but the genie doesn't go back in the bottle.

legalize daca, get the damn wall built, defend the GD borders and enforce the effin law.

how hard is that?

well guess what?

trumps on his way to getting this done
and i'm all for it
