Repeal and Replace.....

Go Rand!

It is a dumb move to touch healthcare unless you can completely fix it and make it a delightful experience.

"Under the proposal, individual and employer mandates would be eliminated...."

Would that be retroactive to potential fines already faced? *asking for a friend*

These details are still thin, but it's exactly what I was hoping to see - especially the elimination of the 'state lines' restrictions. Competition is good. Pooling resources across state lines is good. Very good. And if Trump can get the cost of meds down as he's said he will, that's good too.

If they pull this off, it'll be a big win.

The thing to remember is that Obamacare was not supposed to work. It was supposed to present a problem that could only be solved by a socialized medicine single payer system. So it won't be hard to have a better plan - but it needs to be a successful plan because Trump now owns it. Better but still f*ed up won't be great.

healthcare dollars are not real

there should be a cash price based on the living wage

and a system price based on all the bologna

The problem in healthcare is the already high costs because of the stronghold big pharma already has on the American system.
And everyone blames it on Dems and Obamacare because they fiddled around with the system and didn't fix it completely. Now everytime you get 8 different bills from doctors outside your network for a 2 day hospital stay, it is thanks Obama. If Republicans repeal and replace with anything short of fixing healthcare completely, then they will be the ones associated with how shitty healthcare is in the US.

"I think a lot of industries are going to be coming back. We have to get our drug industry coming back. Our drug industry has been disastrous. They’re leaving left and right. They supply our drugs, but they don't make them here. To a large extent. And the other thing we have to do is create a new bidding procedures for the drug industry because they're getting away with murder.

Pharma has a lot of lobbies, a lot of lobbyists and a lot of power. And there's very little bidding on drugs. We’re the largest buyer of drugs in the world, and yet we don't bid properly. And were going to start bidding and were going to save billions of dollars over a period of time."

Who said this? Trump or Bernie?

They need to pass a law that pharmaceutical drugs sold in the US by a manufacturer must be sold for the lowest price it is sold outside the US by said manufacturer or any other market.

This crap of canadians and mexicans paying a fraction of what US citizens do for the exact same drug from the same manufacturer is complete BS.

NZ Poke, and that growth in the size of "administration" coincides directly from the change of health care facilities (hospitals/clinics) moving from being run by more "charitable" organizations like Churches, Fraternal Groups (Shriner's hospitals), municipalities/localities which had previously stepped in to fill that void to being yet just another "for profit" industry.

Or allow the importation of drugs from Canada, etc.

Oh wait....leftie Corey Booker was a key to making sure that doesn't happen.

Buddy, I have some bad news for you about Democrats.

None I'm not already well aware of.

Those Democrats firmly in the pocket of Big Pharma was just interesting to me because Booker was so ready to jettison his man of the people. He really hurt his planned rise as a champion of the downtrodden with it.

I'm an equal opportunity shamer. :D

Perfect successor to the Clinton legacy. Hopefully we have learned our lesson by now though.
