Remembering the brave heroes of our past

Lots of times we get a little too emotional over political jockeying and half truths and outright lies told by leaders on both sides of the aisle and we forget how truly blessed we really are as Americans.

I just wanted to mention my grandfather and remember the other brave heroes who fought for our country in years gone by. My grandfather was a decorated war hero who fought in the N. African and Italian campaigns in WW2. Here he is back in the day ...

I also wanted to offer a shout out to all the fighting men and women in our armed forces today. We Americans benefit from the comfort of our freedoms that rest on the shoulders of your bravery.

I want to mention my Uncle, a decorated Air Force pilot in the Korean War, who died on Memorial Day 1953 when his plane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico while on a flight training other pilots.
