This show wraps up tomorrow and I think @osutater and me are one of only 10 people in America who watch it. I don't know where it is available streaming-wise but if you ever get a chance watch it. It is a slow burn but amazingly well-done. I honestly think it is one of the best TV shows ever.

I am sad it's over. I think Orange Glove suggested it so I started watching it. I usually don't enjoy character dramas but this one is outstanding. One of my favorite shows ever.

First 3 seasons are on Netflix. The 4th is playing live on Sundance right now.

Because of this post, the wife & I started watching. We just finished season 1 last night. Liked it quite a bit and will definitely finish it.

My career and upbringing (I mean...I was never imprisoned for killing anybody...the small town life is what I'm referring to) helps me really connect to the storyline.

Thanks for the heads up. I've been cheap in waiting for the third season to get pushed to Netflix. It took long enough though, now I forgot what was going on.

Just finished season 2.
  • I really like the characters... most are multidimensional & realistic under the circumstances. Ted, Jr. for example...he's a douche, but nothing he does is irrational, imo. I get where he's coming from, even though I don't like him.
  • I also like the legal stuff. Not a lot of manufactured BS added for dramatic effect. While I've never done a murder trial or any appeals work, from my experience, it is accurate.
    • The only part I question is the defense attorney really pushing Daniel not to take the plea that guarantees he will never go back to jail. I'm not saying it would be easy to admit guilt, but the defense attorney seems a little too confident in thinking if they push things back into court, that Daniel will most likely win. I can't say I know many defense attorneys who'd be that confident and willing to risk: admit guilt/time served/guaranteed freedom vs. losing at trial, resulting in a chance for life in prison or even death row again. I certainly could not fault my client, even if he was 1000% sure of his innocence, for taking the plea facing those options. And I certainly wouldn't push him to turn it down.
  • One criticism: the show is a bit slow. I guess that adds to the realism, but it's not a "page-turner" so to speak.

I finally finished this series. I think they wrapped it up about as well as could be expected, it seemed like a pretty good place to end it. From a writing standpoint, if they wanted to keep it going, I guess they could've had Dan get in some new trouble and go back to jail, or maybe get retried.
