First, do we have a listing of kids we've offered somewhere on the board? I thought that used to exist, but I've forgotten where it is.
Second, have we offered and have any shot at any elite WRs or RBs? I'm talking kids almost anyone in the country would take. Seems like with our playing-time opportunity & history at RB and our recent history at WR + Mason, we have something to sell.
Also, I get that the lower-teir guys we're taking now are guys our coaches have personally evaluated and like. I get it and respect it. I also have no problem with the Hill kid from BTW; he's a good get. I just wished we could snag a truly elite prospect at either of those positions. (I guess I'm a greedy SOB, like most diehards.)
Are we recruiting anybody like that?...because I've not read many names that fit that profile. And if not, is it a cost-benefit analysis thing? If so, I get that to an extent (see RJIII & the Johnson kid from Louisiana). I know it's difficult for us to beat UT & A&M & Alabama & LSU & OU, etc. for the very elite prospects. Still, I think we should be able to bring in a couple each year because things are never equal in recruiting. Like last year, how OU could out-recruit us at the RB position, unless the kid has some personal connection to OU, is ridiculous to me; yet, they did it.
