Yeah, I actually did. Part of it was that my expectations for it were extremely high and I came out of it very disappointed. In the 3 you listed, my expectations were significantly lower. As a kid, I was not a Thor fan at all, so I didn't think I would like the Thor movies, but they were not bad at all, IMO.

To me, Ultron felt too much like it was all about setting up the upcoming Marvel movies rather than it being its own movie. It felt like the writers had completed the first and 3rd book of a trilogy and then came back and wrote the 2nd book in such a way as to connect the two.

I actually liked comic book Thor. I was not crazy about him, and I did not regularly pick up either his title or the Avengers, but I liked him.

I really like MCU Thor. He's fantastic. Loki is too. somehow I still dislike both movies.

I suppose AOU does spend a lot of its time making it obvious it's just an "on the way" movie. It's got a lot in common with the first one that probably wasn't necessary either. For a movie that felt like s set up for the Infinity and Ragnorak stuff it sure laid things out nicely for Civil War too though. I still thought it was fun.

To clarify.... I liked Thor as a member of the the Avengers. It was his title that never did much for me. (like you). I just never cared about Asgard and the other gods he interacted with. It didn't feel pertinent to the stories I enjoyed following (things happening on Earth). Similarly, Dr. Strange never excited me much as most stories involved other dimensions/worlds. But, I agree, movie Thor and movie Loki are both fantastic. As I said, I didn't expect much from the Thor movies (or Doc Strange), but ended up enjoying all 3.

The same reason the Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver aren't mutants in the MCU. Marvel does not own the rights to any of their X-Men/Mutant characters. SW and QS also happen to be Avengers though, so there was some grey area.

The good news is Spider-Man (the movie license) also was not a Marvel property, but they were able to make a deal with Sony to use the character in the MCU. Hopefully they will be able to make a deal with Fox eventually too to get the X-Men and Fantastic Four.

1. Cap 2: Winter Solider
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Doctor Strange
4. Avengers
5. Ant-Man

I need to re-think my list. Black Panther might be in there now

1) Iron Man
2) Captain American
3) Avengers
4) Incredible Hulk
5) Ant-Man

Out of all the comic book movies out there, Deadpool is by far my favorite.

1. Ragnarok
2. Iron Man
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Ant-Man
5. Captain America

I never read any comic books so I didn't know who Iron Man, Ant-man, or the GoG were so I was able to just go in without any expectations. Didn't really know any of the backstories on Cap or Thor either. Probably means I'll enjoy Black Panther too.

Since I made my list I have seen Civil War, Ragnorak and Black Panther (and Dr Strange and GG2).

Those first three would all be in my top 8, but I don’t know if any make it to top 5 status or not.

Great Marvel movies...

Guardians of the Galaxy
Iron Man
Avengers
Winter Soldier
Civil War
Thor: Ragnorak
Ant Man
Black Panther

Good Marvel movies...

Spider-Man Homecoming
Captain America
Hulk (Ed Norton one)
Dr. Strange
Iron Man III

Still liked them and will watch again...

Age of Ultron
GG II

Bad...

Thor
Thor II
Iron Man II

Great list! The opinions on Ant-Man seem to really vary. Some loved it, some hated it and others thought it was okay. I was thoroughly entertained.

Most i talk to really are/were underwhelmed by Iron Man II & III.

I guess I have different opinions on Tony Stark.

I hear people complain about Marvel’s villians (and they jump straight to Mandarib frequently).

I know Tony’s personal issues are on full display throughout II and III.

It’s just... Tony Stark is the big bad villian in the Marvel Universe. He’s the guy that makes a weapon to stop weapons. He’s the guy that builds a Mark 37 suit because he’s afraid he hasn’t built one good enough in the first 36 versions. He built Ultron. He pushed the Sokovia Accords. He’s pushing a teen to being a full time crime fighter because he needs an heir. He’s still trying to do something make things right with mom and dad, still chasing dad’s legacy. Can’t figure out how he’s supposed to relate with the hero from daddy’s stories in the flesh.

At the end of III though... That’s where he comes up for air. You can see where there’s hope for him still in that one.

It’s still not a great film, and II is still awful.

1. Civil War
2. Infinity War
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
4. Winter Soldier
5. Ragnarok

1. Infinity War

2. Civil War
3. GOTG
4. Winter Soldier
5. Avengers
  1. Avengers: Infinity War
  2. Guardians of the Galaxy
  3. Captain America: Civil War
  4. Iron Man
  5. The Avengers
I want to put Infinity War #1 because it's amazing but I want to see it some more first. It might be the most re-watchable right up there with Guardians Vol 1.

  1. Captain America Civil War
  2. Captain America Winter Soldier
  3. Avengers Infinity War
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy
  5. The Avengers
I guess I really like the Russo brothers' movies. Lol

#1 GOTG 1
#2 Captain America: Civil War
#3 Captian America: Winter Soldier
#4 Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1
#5 a)Avengers
b)Spider Man: Homecoming

I just rewatched the Captain America series and forgot how good all three of them are. I think he is my second favorite Super Hero behind Spider Man.

He is my favorite Marvel super hero and probably 3rd or 4th favorite overall.
