Rb
*Rodney Fields and Kaleb Hicks are going to be a very good RB 1-2 punch for us. The portal transfer will add nice depth.
*Trent Howland will be used for sure in power back type situations and will be put in some packages and will be useful.
*Sesi seems to be the odd one out to me. At best he and Brock battle it out for depth.
Qb
*To be honest it was hard to tell much at all. We did a lot of east/west type calls not much north/south.
*Zane was sacked at least 4 times but he also maybe threw downfield more than the other Qb’s. Smith also threw downfield some. Those two may have shown more throwing the football today.
*A lot of passes to the rbs out of the backfield which all 4 QBs seemed to hit on.
*Qbs running will definitely be apart of the offense no matter who the qb is.
*Hard to really gauge much of anything really in my opinion.
TE
*Didnt see a ton to our TE’s and I was expecting to see that.
*Ford is a beast and made a nice catch for a first down. Didn’t see much besides that. Might have missed some?
OL
*Hard to tell much. The group pass blocking for Flores had a rough time.
*Some decent run blocking and holes for Fields and Hicks and Howland.
WR
-Hard to tell much because we didn’t throw it down field much.
-Da’Wain Lofton looked good. Gavin Freeman looked good. Rigby made some catches.
Defense
Not going to break this down by position but here are some takes as a whole. Somebody else might have more detailed thoughts:
*Malik Charles is going to be a good DE for us. He at least would have had 2 sacks maybe even 3. He was the reason Flores got sacked so many times. The oline couldn’t block him.
*Thr LB transfer from SVSU in Michigan Rawls is a big hitter. Might be a portal steal for us.
*Hard to tell much from the secondary because we didn’t test them much.
*Cleveland had a Sack. Kabongo made some plays. Corners looked solid
Special Teams
I don’t know how much Sam Jackson will help us as a WR but he is going to help us in the return game. He is going to bring some excitement to it. Freeman will also.
