Over the weekend we had a conversation about the conflict between the neocons and Donald Trump. Maybe I misunderstood you, but I had the impression you believed the neocons - through their mouthpieces, John McCain and Lindsey Graham - hate Donald Trump, and oppose him at every turn. I argued they feared Trump because his campaign rhetoric tended to be less militarily aggressive than they liked, but were pleasantly surprised by his appointments to his national security team because they saw that gave them a seat at the table, giving them the opportunity to steer Trump into a more offensive approach. You told me to watch McCain & Graham on CNN Wednesday evening and I would see how wrong I am. To be honest I forgot to watch the show, so I don't know what they said about his foreign policy/military moves to this point. I'm sure you are an honorable person; so if you watched the show could you give me an honest update on what was said? From news reports I had seen I knew they were delighted with the appointments of Mattis and McMaster. And I assumed they were all for adding $54 billion to the military budget, which Trump is going to propose. How would you characterize their opinion of Trump from the show?
