"The American president said things are going to a lot different with this White House compared to the last administration. Obama was arguably the most anti-Israel president in US history who trusted the Iran regime more than the Netanyahu government.

"President Trump pointed out Jewish son-in-law Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka who are Jewish and promised a new tone with Israel."

A much-needed change compared to Obama and Clinton who established ISIS, who set the state of Iran on a pathway to owning and using nuclear weapons, and who loathed the state of Israel.

How about some "love" for the Palestinians too? Are they not worthy of our "love" and assistance as much as Israel is?

At least you are honest.

We should continue to pursue a two-state solution in regards to Palestine and Israel. Peace should be our goal, not playing favorites.

so if you live in watonga and chief cheyenne arapaho wants his land back i'm sure you'll move the fence for him

As someone who knows how Israel took the land they now occupy and all of the humanitarian crimes they committed I say its 2017. The Palestinians are willing participants in their own shitty situation and are willingly used by their Muslim brothers to attack Israel. They should be shipped to Iran and dropped off at the border. They have had decades to lay down their arms and have peace.

Arafat turned down the Camp David Peace deal with Israel in 2000 as did Abbas in 2008.

Going scorched earth.

I like this Dark Side Harry.

The US does not recognize Palestine as a State.

Because it is not one.

In 1922, the entire region was governed by the British and was occupied by both Jews and Arabs

In 1947 (post WW 2) the British agreed to relinquish the region and the UN proposed to split the region into 3 parts. 1 for the Jewish people and 1 for the Arab people and Jerusalem to be controlled by an international coalition. The Jews agreed. The Arabs did not. The State of Israel was established in 1948. War broke out in the region.

During the 1948 war, Israel expanded territory by 26%. Jordan captured the West Bank and Egypt captured the Gaza Strip.
700,000 Arabs (Palestinians) left these regions (mostly from Israeli territory) due to fears of continued wars in the region, persecution by the Jews, or simply not wanting to live under Jewish rule. They settled (mostly) in neighboring Arab countries.

Israel was attacked on 3 different borders in 1967 (Six day War) by Egypt, Syria and Jordan, and kicked ass on all 3 sides, taking territory from all 3. Since then, they have returned territory to all 3 of their neighbors, but have also actively established settlements on land that they have not returned. They feel that the settlements are needed as a way to clarify what territory is part of Israel and to eliminate any ambiguity as to who controls said territory.

The "Palistinians" had their chance at their own country when the state of Israel was established, but they wanted the entire region and refused to agree to the deal. They left the region voluntarily and fled to neighboring countries. Nearly all living people, who call themselves "Palistinians" have never lived within the territory that they now want to live in. They have had multiple chances to settle in a portion of what was once considered to be Palestine (nearly a century ago), but have declined due to being unwilling to share the region with Israel.

Share the region my ass, they're hell bent on the annihilation of Israel which makes any discussion of a two-state settlement worse than a bad joke.

My favorite predictable line from today's news was trump goes away from decades old American support of two state solution.

Darn that's been going so well. The criticisms can't even make sense to the people saying them.

If they weren't terrorists, I'd say yes. Since they are terrorists, I say the only love they deserve is tank rounds to the face. They could set the tone by acting civilized for a change. That might get them some traction toward a serious peace deal.

Trumps quip about settlements was an interesting non politician move at the podium.

2 state solution won't work as most arabs don't won't Israel to exist.

This is untrue. Many Arabs have no problem with Israel existing. Radical Arabs may oppose the existence of Israel, but that doesn't mean all Arabs or most Arabs don't want Israel to exist.

The point here is simple. If we want peace, both sides are going to have to give a little. That goes for Israel and that goes for Palestine. Neither have been perfect in the past (that is why it is pointless to point to the mistakes of the past because that accomplishes nothing) and both continue to pursue policies that are not helpful to a two-state solution.

Our nation's policy though should be one of neutrality on this issue with a single goal in mind: a two-state solution. We should work with both nations to ensure a lasting peace.

There is no Palestine.
We can't work with both nations. There is only one.
The Palestinians do not want to peacefully coexist with Israel, they want control of the entire region and won't be happy with Israel asking them to settle in a remote part of the country that Israel is willing to give away. They want control of Jerusalem. They want control of the lush green portions of the country that Israel has created from what was once desert.

Would you be a proponent of offering Florida to Isis if they would agree to settle there and stand down aggression against western culture?

You are likely correct that "many Arabs have no problem with Israel existing". There are a lot of Arabs in the Middle East. Most of them don't give a sht about the Palestinian cause. The ones that Israel needs to be concerned about are the ones that are willing to fire rockets from Palistinian controlled regions into Israel, or sneak in through tunnels and blow up a bus full of civilians.

Are you willing to wear a burqa?

I know this isn't "mine", but since you tee'd it up.....

Hypothetical of course, but it's near closing time at the Fox. One has a snoot-full and is looking for a companion. She's a possibility, but even shey-fusa (shit-faced for you rookies), alarm bells tell you something's not quite right. She promises you the "moon" and all its splendor, only if you wear a burqa...... What'cha gonna do Willis:

Please clarify who "they" refers to...

Hamas, their government. It's hard to be sympathetic to a group that doesn't want peace. The general population suffers at the hands of the extremists.

Same song, different verse in other Middle East countries including Iran. I have several close friends who are Iranian citizens, and the way the ordinary people get lumped into the fanatical government is always bothersome. Same story with the Palestinians, except Hamas works very diligently to condition the people to hate from a very early age.

When Hamas is ready to give up jihad, there will likely be peace because that's what the Palestinian people really want. Take Hamas out of the picture, and it's very likely ordinary Palestinians and Jews will learn to live side by side without violence.

And that's the utopian version.
