Given today is 4/20 and weed is practically legal and some people obviously aren't celebrating because they are all argumentative, I thought I would start a thread to see what strains people would recommend.

I will start:

1- Greaseball from Organix in Breckinridge. Clearest high I have ever had. No paranoia at all. So purple you could mistake it for cabbage.

2- Jack Herer. Created in Amsterdam and named for Jack Herer I believe. Was a cannabis cup winner in the 90s. Will get you stoned to the bajesus belt. I first had this in Amsterdam and almost put me in a panic attack in the red light district. Found it recently in Durango.

3- Mango Haze. Very low THC, but high cbd. Excellent pain reliever.

I can't do sativa. Too many thoughts in this circus of a brain and it makes me paranoid.

I enjoy indica with a little CBD in it. Gotta relax me and get the body buzz. I don't care for the mind high.

I get paranoid more with indica. Not sure why.

I also can't do edibles, but I recommend tincture and patches.

Either I haven't sampled enough strains, or I am not very discerning. IMO, pot is pot and stoned is stoned. Is there a strain that I can partake of that won't result in me doubling my daily caloric intake and gaining 10 lbs per week?

I love OG and Sour Diesel. I am a bit old school on my strains. Some of this new stuff is just crazy. Best I ever had was a strain I crossed a long time ago. I called it orange power. I like my pot to not only have certain affects but also taste is a huge deal. I treat pot like I do wines. I just don't smoke that often these days to know all the new strains. I did go to Canada last year and a buddy had some medical stuff. I smoked it with him and went back to the hotel. I was 100% convinced that the Mount me's where going to kick in my door and make an example out an American who broke the laws. I hate the stuff that just makes you so paranoid you can't enjoy the high.

Weird. Pot never makes me paranoid. Never. I know it does that to a lot of people, but I always thought it was exaggerated, and more related to it being a more criminalized offense 10+ years ago.

I like sour diesel as well. Lemon diesel is great as well.

You would love tangerine kush. Smells and tastes like an orange (or technically a tangerine). It's an indica too.

I will only take one hit off of a ph. Much more than that and paranoia gets me.

That's one thing that is so great nowadays. I go to a dispensary and I buy as many individual strains, a gram each, as I can. Then you take a small hit off a ph and you can try each and compare. Like you said, it's like tasting wine or sampling craft beers. Less about getting baked and more about noticing the deferent subtleties of each strain.

I could smoke as much of that dirt weed as you can give me and not get paranoid. Two big hits of some kb and it can be awful.

It really is like the difference between 30 years ago when there mostly a few types of beer ("beer is beer"), and nowdays with crazy amounts of different styles. (IPA's, sours etc).

Certain strains make me a prisoner of my own mind (not into that), whereas others are light, floaty and inspiring.
