Personally, I think it was bait to see if the media would talk about it. Frankly, I'm impressed with the media. Outside of a few exceptions, most of the major players have noted the coat, but not applied any real focus to that story (at least as I saw yesterday). Much different than the "wearing high heels to a flood zone" story which all the Anti-Trump outlets ran with.
I love the timing. It says, "Here's something else for you to be pissed off about. And when you are done being pissed off with this, we will give you something else to be pissed off about right after that."
