There's nothing "liberal" about the post-2010 left.
I've posted this clip before, but a person can't truly grasp the mentality the of the modern left --- without knowing about the Frankfurt School, critical theory and cultural Marxism. They completely transformed America's culture (key word) in less than 50 years.

But since it was Oregon, the odds are about eleventy billion to 1 that the offended was white as snow.
Between 2005-2007, when Democrats figured out they could demonize the Republican Party for the Secure Fence Act of 2006 and create Latino "victims" by doing it. The 2006 midterms highlighted the results. The Latino turnout was very high, very Democratic, and helped the Democrats take the majority in both chambers.
That result mirrored the result of an immigration bill that turned California forever blue in 1994. The realization that they could successfully create "victims" by using crazy alarmist rhetoric against Republicans created a very large political appetite to create more victim classes to lure in voters to replace the declining numbers of white blue collar union Democrats. It's gone off the deep end ever since.
If someone would told me about cultural Marxism and the Frankfurt School about seven years ago I would’ve told them that they were nuts, to take off the antennas, to start taking Risperdal etc.... Then I lived and worked in NYC for a few years and worked with real Marxists. NYC is the epicenter of this stuff. One of my colleagues there was involved in efforts to overthrow the government in the 60s and was investigated by the FBI as a result of it. Cultural Marxism is very real and it explains every single “progressive”/liberal policy position to a tee. Your rank-and-file “progressives” genuinely believe in the cause and the stupid, bizarro theories such as “white privilege” or “oppression” but they have no idea that they are being played for fools by the puppet masters. And if the puppet masters ever got the total power that they crave (complete control of the executive branch, the judicial branch and Congress along with mass gun confiscation) they would unleash mass carnage on the “oppressive” majority here.
From your first hand experience, what environment allowed for this nonsense to fester and grow within the people you interacted with?
My colleague grew up a young radical and from her comments a lot of people in her social/ethnic group felt the same way growing up in the 60s. She was very open about her dislike of white Christians.
My recollection of what kicked off the “transgender” push was when Sandra “I want a catholic school to pay for my birth control” Fluke publicly stated that “transgenders” should be allowed to serve in the military. That was about six years ago after she testified in front of Congress and was hailed as a hero by the Democrats for demanding that a Catholic school pay for her birth control.
The vast majority of kids who question their gender growing up grow out of it. Giving hormones and puberty blockers to these kids is child abuse.
