My seasons have nothing in common with Oklahoma, and we had the worst weather I've ever seen up here for hunting, but here is a meager contribution:
This is my foreman. He's in grad school right now, but he made it up two weekends and found this guy about 30 minutes before season end. We have seen this deer for a while and when he came up lame in October we really wanted to shoot him. Found a ball from a muzzleloader that went in his left flank and lodged in his right femur. Wouldn't have lasted the winter.
I had one day to hunt antelope this year and managed to get this guy during rifle season. Very lucky to get him. He scored pretty good so I was happy.
I don't have any other tags for Colorado, but I'm going to hit NEbraska, Oklahoma, and Arkansas before the end of January. Hopefully I can make something happen this winter, but I won't have much time.
We did have fun this year and saw a 375+ bull but he was around 1000 yards out and it took us over an hour to get to him. I was guiding a buddy of mine and we passed on a small bull that we didn't regret later.
I'm taking a couple of boys out this winter with a late season cow tag and so far I'm 2/2 on getting kids an elk. Praying I can get these boys a shot.
