Opening day...good luck!

Nestled in in the travel trailer at the ranch in vinita. Checked 3 of 5 cams this afternoon, and what do I find? A new buck.

And he's a double drop tine on his left side.

Only problem? He's about 140" gross and clearly 3.5 or less. Gonna be damned hard to pass, but that's my intention if I happen to get a chance.

Well I saw a couple of nice bucks brought in just as I was going to pick up my deer meat. One almost identical to the one Jeff posted that was shot hear Vinita, without the drop tines. Very nice, big bodied deer. It made mine look pretty small.
The other was just a fraction less mass and an inch less wide. Both looked to be old deer.

I stayed in the stand until 12:30 opening morning, and it poured the entire time. So much rain that the dry creek I crossed to get to my blind that morning turned into a bitch to cross when I left. I had to make a bridge with dead logs.
