Where are all the Democrat politicians crying about all the black lives that have been lost, many of them children, as a direct result of failed leftist policies?
They had something like 70 shot with 12 killed in Chicago over the weekend and not a word from BLM, Democrats or the leftist. Shows you that black lives do not matter and that the entire movement is nothing but TDS on steroids.

Almost like if you repeat that lie often enough, if you hope hard enough, it might actually be true.

Pretty sad when people on the South Side of Chiraq can not attend a funeral without being shot at. No to mention those in attendance feel the need to be armed so they can shoot back.

Please provide examples of Democrats, BLM or Leftist speaking out about this?
Much appreciation for breaking those down into distinct categories. You could just watch Lightfoots last press conference, or Biden’s recent round table, or read his policy paper on gun violence....

TACKLE URBAN GUN VIOLENCE WITH TARGETED, EVIDENCE-BASED COMMUNITY INTERVENTIONS

Daily acts of gun violence in our communities may not make national headlines, but are just as devastating to survivors and victims’ families as gun violence that does make the front page. And, these daily acts of gun violence disproportionately impact communities of color. But there is reason to be optimistic. There are proven strategies for reducing gun violence in urban communities without turning to incarceration. For example, Group Violence Intervention organizes community leaders to work with individuals most likely to commit acts of gun violence, express the community’s demand that the gun violence stop, and connect individuals who may be likely perpetrators with social and economic support services that may deter violent behavior. These types of interventions have reduced homicides by as much as 60%. Hospital-Based Violence Intervention engages young people who have been injured by gun violence while they are still in the hospital, connecting them to social and economic services that may decrease the likelihood they engage in or are victims of gun violence in the future. Biden will create a $900 million, eight-year initiative to fund these and other types of evidence-based interventions in 40 cities across the country – the 20 cities with the highest number of homicides, and 20 cities with the highest number of homicides per capita. This proposal is estimated to save more than 12,000 lives over the eight-year program.

Lololololol Blame the Guns!!!!!!

Just can’t help it huh?

Come on man, don’t quit on me now. Has to be something relevant/factual you can counter with.
If I thought you were capable of independent thought, I probably would have already engaged you, trigglydave. But I'll bite...

The US has a bunch of firearms. Wyoming leads the US in guns per capita at 196 firearms per 1,000 residents. Illinois comes in around 35 with 9.2 guns per 1,000 residents. If guns were actually the problem, why doesn't Wyoming put Chicago to shame in gun violence? It's almost as if something besides the guns is responsible. Any thoughts on what that might be?

If you are sincere in discussing Chicago gun violence and underlying causation, comparing on a state to state basis likely isn't going to make your argument. Would be better to find a city to city comparison - say Houston and Chicago? Similar population, minority majority demographics, etc.

That seem fair?

Before we move on, do you agree that there are more guns per 1,000 residents in Wyoming than in Illinois? Chicago is in Illinois, correct?

I see no relevance in the statistic, but sure my gut would say that is likely. Hell, probably more guns per capita in Orygon than Illinois as well.

You are correct about Oregon.

Now, that data is based on data from the ATF regarding legal firearms. Knowing that, AND knowing that the law abiding citizens of Wyoming and Illinois aren't the people shooting up Chicago, who is shooting up Chicago and where do their guns come from?

I suggest we compare and contrast policy and impact in Houston vs. Chicago by looking at population, population density, rates of violent crime, rates of property crime - anything else @Medic007 that would be relevant?

@HighStickHarry has a thesis that the traditional nuclear family breakdown is causative so maybe we can look at marriage rates, divorce rates, etc.

What do you think?

Not a valid compare - we certainly can look at rates of legal ownership in Houston vs. Chicago. Feel free to add that to your list of relevant attributes.

Throw in politics of the cities as well.

Dave, I posed a question. Who is shooting up Chicago? Do you think it's the law abiding gun owners in Illinois?
Medic, I am willing to discuss your thesis and use data to see if it is valid. I am not willing to meander around this topic. You can say you reject the comparison of Houston and Chicago to test your thesis - feel free to propose another similar sized city.

Dave, it's a very direct and very simple question. You're doing the meandering. Again,

Who is shooting up Chicago? Do you think it's the law abiding gun owners in Illinois?
