One way to stop inflation

if I had been there I would have asked the guy if he had a job, if he was doing drugs. If he said no to both, I would have told him to take the cart back in, go through the check out, I'd pay for it, and he could go eat. But, that's just me, this morning, right now anyhow.
and here's another story...one of those situations where you wish you'd done something to help...
a young couple was in walmart in the self checkout lane with their baby in the basket seat. They were just standing there embarrassed and shocked or something because their card had been declined. They were speechless and well you know all the things that go along with being declined at the checkout lane. I actually don't remember what happened to them, but I wish I'd have just stepped up and told them I was going to put this on my card and they could just pay it forward sometime. I didn't do that...someone may have, I think I just kept on going. Anyway, I won't think twice for a second if something like that happens to me again.

ok, back to your regularly scheduled programing....

Bad ass granny
I'm surprised the granny isn't being charged with assault and battery. If this had been San Fran or NYC, you can bet she would have been.

I understand your position and the "good will" that you feel you should render. On the other hand, there is no excuse for anyone to be unemployed in the USA unless they want to be unemployed. Have you surfed the job market recently? I have a very good friend that is in tilt-wall construction. He has been in the biz for about 30 years. He currently has a 27 month/$66 million dollar backlog. He cannot add people or equipment because he cannot find people. 99% of his staff are legal Mexicans or Mexican Americans. His salaries are excellent and he has a bonus scheme for each project. He cannot get a white or black to come to work.

I know all that, but it doesn't change my thinking right now. It's a mess.
