We all agree that a key to winning the Big 12 is QB play. Boykin is the elite QB in the league. Close behind him, IMO, will be Rudolph and Russell. Mahomes, Heard, and Mayfield have potential. I just have to think Holgerson will come up with somebody but so far Howard is the leader and he is just average. But here is what I want to point out. Of all the teams, OSU is the only one that has any proven QB depth. This could be critical. It is so hard to get through a season without your QB missing at least a series or two. TCU's only loss came last year after Boykin hurt a wrist in the 4th quarter but tried to finish the game. TT will have Webb back but the word is that his shoulder surgery recovery is behind time schedule so far. uo has a couple of QB's with game experience but they have looked less than average.
It will be interesting to follow the season and see how the QB injury bug plays out. As talked about in another thread, the luck of avoiding key injuries plays a huge role in who wins the Big 12.
