used to drive down to san antonio, spend the night, and drive down to Laredo and go in to mexico to buy crap. Well, we bought a lot of crap but also some nice crap as well. It was definitely cheaper and we did this several times. I want to say the last time we went, which was probably 7 or 8 years ago, the merchants in Nuevo Laredo were telling us to not come back. We heard it everywhere. So we quit going. We had a great time but when the merchants are afraid as well you know things are bad. I think it did get better a few years later for a while but it's back to being a place you don't want to go....too easy to get in the cross fire of these crazy sob's. I'd be willing to bet that almost every border town is the same.
