Cael is notoriously silent about how he runs his program, and no one can argue that they've set a new standard for success at PSU. Bo Nickal gives some insight into something interesting in this video at the 54 minute mark: https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6761997-bader-show-kendall-cross-and-bo-nickal
Turns out Cael has someone on staff that basically acts as a therapist/counselor for his athletes. Makes sense, because mental health is a huge part of anyone's success and his wrestlers often seem very cool & collected. And lord knows that college kids are going through a lot. I wonder how many other programs do something like this - put a focus not just on academic/ athletic success and staying out of trouble, but helping the athletes keep a clear head by simply being there and helping them work through mental aspects of their lives that have nothing to do with wrestling. I can see a huge upside to this and I hope our program has something like this too.
