In case no one noticed, TT had their spring football game yesterday even though they will still have 7 more practice sessions. The game was played in Midland,Texas due to their stadium being refitted with new seating. They have had team scrimmages down there the last 2 years as well.
Some interesting notations: Davis Webb sat out as he is still recovering from off season shoulder surgery. The O-line was extremely limited due to having only 6 scholarship players available(sound familiar). The defense has a new DC. David Gibbs from Houston is now the DC. He is the 7th DC in 7 years at TT. No wonder their defense has been so bad.
TT does return 17 starters from last years team, providing they are all healthy. They have a nice stable of RB's although none is really a standout. DeAndre Washington is back but the best newcomer may be Justin Stockton. He played some last year but appears to really have come on this spring. Grant is still their best receiver.
I expect some team improvement out of TT but I don't think they will improve as much at most of the teams ahead of them so they are still looking at a below average season for them.
They did get nice QB play from their backup QB(Mahomes, who looked like a deer in the headlights in our game) at the end of last year and appear to have 2 QB's they can get good play from.
