On Antisemitism, Trump and Israel

I didn't say the GOP embraces them. I said that they are more likely to embrace the GOP than the Democratic party.

I think Trump's reluctance to condemn their actions after Charlottesville ("bad people on both sides") was an example of him not wanting to alienate a portion of his base.

I think those groups have been emboldened since Trump became POTUS (as evidence by a significant rise in antisemitic hate crimes).
No. I am telling you that antisemitism/white supremacists exist, in this country, and that almost all of them vote for republicans and are opposed to the Democratic party.
how about actual Democrat party members of Congress, such as the newly elected Ilhan Omar, or the man she replaced Keith Ellison? Or Al Sharpton, or Jesse Jackson? Trayvon White in D.C.?

I'm sure that you would agree that most large population centers tend to be blue, while extremely rural areas tend to be red. I know this won't go over well on this site, but, people with advanced degrees tend to gravitate toward cities and away from rural settings (for obvious reasons).
I do agree that there are plenty of gullible individuals on both sides.

i started out saying you’re argument is such self- perceived elitist garbage, but i’m gonna be honest, it’s you.

pocahauntas graduated from northwest classen high school and made it all the way from cowtown okc to the ivory towers of harvard.

played this high cheekbone indian garbage all the way into painting herself into a nice little 23 and me corner and coming out 1/1024 mayan incan or some other malarkey.

so yea there’s gullible people on both sides, but your self serving boots are crusted in bullshit.

on a side note

i really appreciate what you bring to this board. it reminds me of what’s out there

IMO, it is more than 5%. Maybe a lot more. What you see as "extreme hyperbole", many take as legitimate fact. He knows he can say what ever he wants, because the idiots will buy in 100% and intelligent people like you will rationalize and decide that he is just being hyperbolic.

This discussion started with the topic of conservatives being more supportive of Israeli policy than liberals. I gave a reason as to why that might be the case. There is no way to know whether the conservatives questioned were more closely aligned to your level of intelligence or closer to the "idiots" that you admit are out there. So, I am just suggesting something that may figure into the equation, with no real way of confirming.

As far as there being more idiots on my side, I disagree. I'm sure that you would agree that most large population centers tend to be blue, while extremely rural areas tend to be red. I think it is obvious check that VERY obvious that advanced degrees do not mean someone is more prepared to deal with the nuances of deep thoughts on life, politics and common sense.

Moving to a big city is the first clue that they are not anything more than book smart. And if they are so good at life why are cities the worst when it comes to haves and have nots? You live in Dallas and what have you done with your degree to bring one person out of poverty? How many vet tech scholarships have you funded for the poorest kids in Dallas? How many boards have you sat on to address the poverty in Dallas? Your advanced degree gives you what insight into prison reform? Or caravans? Or political media coverage?

Clinton scott is the smartest person here and he barely got through osu. Is he less prepared than you to comment on politics and life in general?

Take-aways: anti-Semitic crimes on the rise for months/years BEFORE Trump was elected.

Per NYC Police: in nearly 2 years, not A SINGLE person apprehended or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with any far right-wing group. Not one.

If you actually do some research, you’ll see that they began to rise after he announced his candidacy and “build a wall” rhetoric ensued.

Uh huh. Sure thing, poker buddy/counselor . “Build a wall” equates to “Jews evil” in the minds of so many.

On Omar... you are conflating criticism of the Israeli government with antisemitism. Not the same thing. That happens a lot around here.

As to the others, and support of TNOI, you have a point. TNOI is an issue, and is tied to the Democrats, unfortunately.
