I am pretty certain from what I heard from friends who listened to John's show that there are no plans to move Nolan Boyd to 197. He stated that Nolan and Jordan would both still be competing at 184. This does not preclude however that John could move Boyd up to 197 for this dual. My preference is to leave Boyd at 184 where I think he will be more effective than Rogers regardless of who wins in the room. Nolan c an score points for us at Nationals at 184. Doubtful if he could at 197. He would give it his all at either weight.

I have a feeling Ryan Blees will go at 157 at this dual. Boyd at 197, he can do some damage come March. We have no option at 197 this season!

Great weather in South Dakota. Took your team longer to get here yesterday due to weather around Sioux city.

I am on flo and the audio is pretty rough. I logged out once and came back in and the 8 second reverb went away, but now it is not audible.

Ringer looked out of shape, but Zilverberg was very good at stopping Alex from scoring. Alex was just not very aggressive, but Zilverberg is strong. As I recall the match was about the same last year.

Rogers was getting hammered 9-3 then Rogers gets a throw for a 6 point move. Almost got the fall, but out of bounds. Rogers tries another throw, but got taken down.
This announcer sure is not fond of our Cowboys. Certainly has a SDSU slant.

Marsden was disqualified at the end of the match. He dominated, but had a penalty point for unsportsmanlike conduct, then as in on a takedown at the very end. I think he might have kicked the other wrestler, but it was not obvious it was intentional. If this guy reffed with Iowa there would be lots of disqualifications. Gilmon would be gone in the first period.

Rotert is a bull, but nice effort by Jordan Rogers against a much larger Rotert.
What the H. It ends with a flagrant misconduct against Marsden who dominated the match and was leading 5-2. Do not know if Marsden was disqualified or just lost a point The screen went black as they were close to going out of bounds and ref signaled takedown for Marsden then the FD call so was it 7-3 or was Marsden disqjualified? We were leading 21-9 at the time. The announcer was absolutely horrible. More attention to "shout outs than to the match. We did not wrestle well. Boyd and Klimara were the only highlights.

I just watched the dual and it was not much fun watching us appear to be uninterested and lacking aggression. I don't know what happened in the Marsden match and he may have been disqualified. Very foolish or I could use worse words to describe the ending of the Marsden match. Klimara was aggressive, Dieringer match was the worse I've ever seen him wrestle. I don't understand having Rogers wrestle 97 although he did have a 6 point move.

Pretty sure its not easy to call wrestling but that was one of the worst announcers ever for several reasons. His voice was so irritating that I was asked to leave the room and take my laptop with me. He even made the OSU announcers seem good. Wonder who will call the home matches.
I vote fo

You might be thinking of his cousin who wrestled for Minnesota Luke wrestled 141 last year

they wrestled like they got in late from an 11 hour bus ride. Harding could have beaten his opponent. Darn stalling call. nice effort by Jordan Rogers. Boyd looked great in the 3rd period which got him the major. I had sound but it was delayed by a whole match then was cut off before the 285 match finished so Im not sure what happened to Marsden. I didn't see anything flagrant.

I am going to do this one time and this is for the ones that did not watch the match. I scored it and this is hopefully the way the scoring went:
125 In the first period Klimara had a takedown and gave up an escape then got a second takedown and turned his opponent for a four point near fall It was 8-1 after 1 period and Klimara took down and escaped immediately and got a take down and a two point near fall. This brought the score to 13-1 after two periods. The opponent took down and Eddie let him up to make it 13-2. Eddie then secured a takedown and got a 4 point near fall to end it at 19-2. Totally dominated the match and almost had a fall in the first
133 BranceSharp @16 came out shooting and was able to get in on Harding's leg several times with no points scored and finally Harding worked around and scored on a counter move to go ahead 2-0 and rode Sharp for a time and then Sharpe got an escape to tie it 3-3 and Harding got an escape to make it 4-3 going into the 2nd period. Harding took down in the 2nd and escaped to make it 5-3. In the third Sharp took down and escaped and got a second stalling call against Gary Wayne to tie it 5-5 going into overtime. Sharp got the takedown in overtime to win 7-5.
141 Heil scored a takedown on about his 4th attempt on Gross to lead 2-0 but then gave up an escape to make it 2-1 going into the 2nd.Heil escaped immediately and then got a takedown to make it 5-1. He let Gross go to make it 5-2 and in the 3rd Gross took down and escaped for the final 5-3 score. Heil was never in danger but showed no aggressiveness and looked content to win 5-3.
149 Anthony Collica had a takedown and ride out to end the first period 2-with 55 seconds of riding time. He took down and escaped to make it 3-0 and looked in control on his feet but no more points scored so 3-0 going into the third period. Alex Kocek took top in the third as this is his forte and he scored a two point near fall by turning Collica. Collica then reversed him to make it 5-2 and Kocek escaped to make it 5-3.Collica dominated on his feet but did get caught on his back to make it close.
157 Ryan Blees came out strong against Cody Pack and almost had a takedown which Pack turned into a takedown of his own and the first period ended 2-1 in favor of Pack. Blees took down and escaped to make it 2-2 and then Pack had 3 straight takedowns with two escapes by Blees to make the score 8-4 for Pack going into the third and Pack took down in the third and escaped immediately to make it 9-4 and he had plenty of riding time so he let Blees up and took him down again for an 11-4 score with riding time assured. Blees made a valiant effort to escape to escape and the final score was 12-5 thus not a major.
165 Alex was stymied in the first period although dominant until 2 minutes in when he scored a takedown and rode Zilverberg out so it was 2-0 with :59 seconds riding time going into the 2nd period. Zilverberg took down and Alex rode him at will but eventually let him up to make it 2-1 and Alex took him down again for a 4-1 lead with insurmountable riding time going into the third. Alex took down and escaped immediately to make it 6-1 with riding time and there were no more points scored and frankly Alex looked like he did not want to score again and while never in danger let it end 6-1 despite John yelling for him to stay aggressive. Not one of Alex's better efforts.
174 Kyle Crutchmer had a takedown in the first period against David kocer and dominated the action. He took down in the 2nd and escaped and the score was 3-0 going into the third. Kocer tgook down and escaped and
Crutchmer took him down and let him up and then scored another takedown on a desperation shot from Kocer to win 7-2.
184. Nolan Boyd got the start at 184 and after a 0-0 first period took down in the 2nd and reversed Brad Ayers immediately for a 2-0 lead. He lethim up and scored another takedown in the second to lead 4-1 going into the third period. Ayers took down and escaped but Boyd had three takedowns in the third and won by 11-2 major decision.
197 Jordan Rogers got the start and almost had two takedowns but Rotert powered through them for three takedowns of his own and the score was 6-2 at the end of one period . Rotert took down and escaped to make it 7-2 when Rogers hit a beautiful throw and had Rotert on his back at the edge of the mat and several times he looked about to score the fall but ref finally called him out but Rogers had six points. Rotertg had an escape and two takedowns to make it 13-9 and in the third had another takedown but gave up the escape to make the final score 15-10. Kudos to Jordan for battling the #10 ranked 197 pounder but he looked futile in the third and kept looking at the clock and doing nothing to escape in the third.
28.Austin Marsden totally dominated the first period with a takedown, near fall and strong ride out for a 4-0 lead.
Alex Macki took down in the 2nd and escaped and no more points scored in the 2nd with Marsden looking content to maintain his lead. He took down in the third and escaped immediately for a 5-1 lead. Both wrestlers were getting chippy and Marsden finally penalized a point to make it 5-2. Towards the end Marsden was in on a leg and going out of bounds when my screen went black. It came back and I saw the ref award two points to Austin to make it 7-2. The referee called a flagant misconduct on Austin and as of thirty minutes ago I still do not know if Austin was DQed or we lost a team point.

From what they said in the arena, no points awarded last match. They rolled out of bounds, Ref blew the whistle, Macki was on his back and Marsden was also and leg dropped him in the face. Hard to say if intentional, but he definitely could have done it harder had he wanted to.

I believe that a wrestler can be suspended for the next meet.
5.6 Flagrant Misconduct
5.6.1 Prematch, Match or Postmatch Period. During the prematch, match or
postmatch period, flagrant misconduct committed by either wrestler, such
as intentionally striking an opponent, deliberately attempting to injure an
opponent, or any act serious enough to disqualify a wrestler from an event,
shall be penalized by the deduction of one team point, disqualification of that
contestant, removal from the premises, declaration of the opponent as the
winner and the award of six points to the opponent’s team. For tournaments,
a team point shall be deducted from the offender’s team score, the opponent
declared the winner and two team points awarded for advancement. (For
flagrant misconduct in overtime, see Rule 3.10.7.)
In addition, that contestant will not be credited with points earned before
the incident, nor receive placement points or an individual tournament award.
Other contestants will remain in their respective positions. In dual-team
advancement tournaments, the flagrant misconduct penalty points are only
deducted for the session in which the offense occurred.
A wrestler, coach or institutional representative who commits an act of
flagrant misconduct shall be suspended from participation until after the
team’s subsequent event. If flagrant misconduct occurs during the last event
of the season, the suspension carries over to the first event of the next season.
The referee shall alert the national coordinator of wrestling officials as soon
after the match as possible that a flagrant misconduct violation occurred.

FWIW, track shows 21-9 with double forfeit at 285.
That was the announcement as it happened. Very happy the way the jacks wrestled. Not surprised. They have a good staff and recruiting has been good. Will continue to get better.
