NORMAN — Bedlam belongs to the Cowboys when the teams go to mats, but Oklahoma State wasn't satisfied with a lopsided rivalry in first-year coach David Taylor's introduction to the series.
On Friday night, the Cowboys set their sights on a bit of history with a 35-3 win over Oklahoma at the Sooners' McCasland Field House. It was OSU’s 20th consecutive victory in the rivalry, tying the all-time series record set by OSU between 1969-1978.
The 32-point margin of victory is the fifth-largest margin of victory by either side since 1999. The last time a team dominated to a greater extent came when Oklahoma State won 41-2 on Dec. 9, 2018.
“We were the aggressor,” Taylor said. “We were looking to score points. Missed a few bonus point opportunities, but we’re putting ourselves in position to do that and that’s good.”
