What would have to happen for us to play in the Cotton Bowl semifinal?

I’m covering a HS regional final Saturday at 2, which shot down my plans to go to Arlington for the Big 12 Championship game and since i cant make that game, I'm going to the next game we play.

Also, I guessing that if we don't go to the CFP that we’ll be in the Sugar Bowl.
