Boy, that thread created a lot of controversy. Maybe this one won't do that quite so much but to me it looks to have a bigger effect than JW playing 20 plays.
Jason McEndoo continues to say his Cowboy backs will be on the field 90 % of the plays. Now that is a big change in our offensive strategy. I have not gone back and counted how many plays our Cowboy backs were on the field in the Cactus Bowl but it does not seem like that many. To me, this seems to make a statement that No 1-we are committed to getting a strong running game going as all of these guys can block lights out and No 2-we want to create more diversified situations for the opposing defenses to have to deal with without substituting.
I have always liked that 15 to 20 yard seam pass over the middle to the TE or H-back. It seems safe for the QB to throw, it is difficult for the DB to tackle a guy that big, and it is usually a high percentage completion.
If we run 80 plays per game, the Cowboy backs will be on the field for around 70 some plays. IMO, that is a bigger deal that JW playing 20 plays a game.
