This will never be solved by higher resettlement quotas....never ever ever. The countries with huge numbers of outflows have a populace that breed like rabbits and you will never solve the migration problem without solving the despot problem, fertility problem and health problems. You are getting a front row seat as to one of the next largest humanitarian crisis there will be with expropriation of land from whites in South Africa. It sucks that there are so many kids dying in these situations, but I hold parents wholly responsible for dragging their children/relatives along a journey that most in shape people would have a difficult time completing.
Mexico, could have stopped the recent mass violation of their border but didn't, why not? They aided an abetted peoples belief all they had to do was show up at the US border and they would be allowed in. Need to start a radio station similar to the old Radio Free America, only name it "Don't Be Stupid and Pay For a Promise That Will Never Come True." Beam it across all of Central & South America.
Generally, in Europe, children born to immigrants don't become automatic citizens either. There is so many things that need to change in this discussion, but they never will because some groups see immigrants as future voters, some see them as harmless refugees escaping injustices they coincidently voted for, some see them as cheap labor and so on and so on. Until the rules are clear-cut, enforced and meaningful there won't be any reform. Which again is incredibly sad, especially when it comes to parents deciding to drag their kids along on a journey that is incredibly rife with perils on a good day.
I am for executions of anyone taking money to smuggle people over any border. That draw alone creates incalculable problems.
