It is an opinion piece, I agree. But it is hardly meaningless. He is desperately trying to get us white people to understand the sadness/fury/humiliation/outrage that most black people in this country yo-yo through throughout their lives. The fact that we have not experienced the oftentimes demeaning attitude most black people contend with is part of the reason we find it so hard to understand or accept. His essay/opinion piece is an attempt to get us to understand and make the effort to stop it once and for all. I gather you were insulted by what he wrote. I don’t think that was his intention.

I was not insulted or offended at all. I was commenting more about the one who posted and his agenda.
