Haisten's tweet was interesting in pointing out the 40 sacks given up last year and Rudolph confident the line will be a "force" this year. What might be fun is to predict the number of sacks the OL will give up this coming year, might be as fun as predicting our final W/L record for the season. I feel predicting the total number of sacks will be harder than predicting the record, although we do know an inverse relationship most likely exists between number of sacks given up and total wins.
Not sure what to predict for the OL in terms of sacks, but I would say if OSU could get it down to about 20 this upcoming season, that would be a tremendous improvement over last year. I would like to see it at 12 - 13, that would be a great year but not sure if that is realistic. If OSU has 40 sacks again most likely our back-up QB plays some this year. Rudolph looks like he can take more punishment than JW or Daxx, but no QB can take that kind of pounding and survive the whole year, and if they are still standing at the end of the year, they may look like Robinson did when he was hurt but was still playing (not being critical of Robinson when I say that, guy pound for pound was tough and a great competitor).
Thoughts?
