And not much chatter about it on here.... huh.

1. Is this how the second amendment is supposed to work? People fighting back against government and all?

2. #Cops lives matter.... more. Helicopters, troops, snipers, lockdown, dogs, school cancelled... my gawd. Say what you want about black lives matter -- I don't recall this application of resources to catching the killer of a civilian.

The gun made those guys kill a cop. If only we had a law that would help make murder illegal.

So the gun was bought legally? We know this already even though they haven't found the people who shot the cop? Best lawyer ever!

It absolutely sucks, anytime someone is killed protecting and serving the citizens. The common theme is criminals either being killed during the act of committing a crime or now killing someone in addition to criminal activity.

I haven't seen too many details but this doesn't sound like a case of armed citizens taking a stand against the government, more like three criminals over powering a cop and killing him.

Locking down a community when there are armed criminals isn't that uncommon. I believe schools were shut down when the two guys escaped from prison earlier this year.

Praying for you sys, you are one messed up dude.

Holy crap you're an idiot. Google is your friend. Really. Plenty of examples going way back in time of manhunts and enormous use of resources to catch civilian homicide suspects, including the use of helicopters, dogs, snipers, "troops," and lockdowns.

Is over utilization of resources to catch a cop killer a new point of rage for the left? Wouldn't surprise me.

I haven't been disrespectful to you, but thank you for the combination insult/prayer promise.

I can't get a handle on when it's a crime vs. a second amendment manifestation. i thought shooting cops was always a crime -- so when does it become a second amendment issue?

No, I think any rage is from the conservatives ripping me. I haven't detected any rage at all.

So your point #2 is just a bit of idiotic keyboard diarrhea because you can't help but let flow. Got it.

I don't even know what the hell the second amendment has to do this crime? You are the donkey who brought up the 2nd amendment.

I guess my question to the way you phrased the post would be as follows.....

If "the state" can't protect itself from the criminal element, what is the rationale in expecting they can protect you and yours?

Troops?

8 officers in 9 days. And what motivated the shooting near Abilene, TX?

The execution of the deputy came just days after black radicals went on an internet radio show hosted from Texas and called for the lynching of white people and the killing of cops to “turn the tide” against blacks being killed by cops.

Yup, guns and the 2nd amendment are the issue.

A constant state of warfare with each other and now publicly calling for the death of whites. Hmmmm, why aren't the professional race baiters calling out their own? No money or publicity in it?

1. In what circumstance? The state does a pretty good job(stats were posted some time ago re: cops killed vs. civilians killed by cops -- the cops win hands down) but when they're unsuspecting and simply ambushed, I don't know that you or me would have any better result than a trained officer. These cops aren't killed in old fashioned gentlemen's duels. If it's some siege or hostage - type deal, they're probably better trained, organized and armed than we are, assuming you're not a cop.

2. I don't think anybody, including you and me, can protect you and yours from a nut with an semi-automatic if he wants to go all Louisiana theater. That's kind of my point -- whoever gets the "first punch" in a gunfight typically wins, and it's usually someone that has no business wielding that kind of power. There is no protection for the first few people that get shot.

3. I would look at other countries where gun control works and they don't have nearly the homicides. I don't know why or how, the

Everything from hang gliders to submarines.

That is race a good point race. The race baiters race are really quiet race, aren't they? Race. I can't race stand people that constantly stoke racial differences. Race.

OK, so there are no troops.

Helicopter? Are you aware that the police right there in Tulsa have a helicopter that is used frequently to pursue criminals? http://www.newson6.com/story/26408033/new-crime-fighting-tool-gives-tulsa-police-huge-advantage
If they're using helicopters to find a stolen car, I'm pretty sure they'd use it to find a murderer.

Lockdown? Fairly routine. Google it.

Dogs? Isn't that pretty much a daily occurrence?

I just don't understand why President Obama doesn't swoop down there in a chopper and take out those guys like he did bin Laden. Seems simple enough, right?

Poor liberal. You dudes hate reality. It makes everything you "stand" for look stupid.

Sys,

Here's where we differ. I'm coming from the position that we Americans just like killing each other more than they do in other countries. Something about our society translates that we value life less than the other countries. You want to have an exchange about what the root causes are for this phenomenon, I'm sure it would be a good/educational discussion for everyone to participate.

But until American society changes, the only real discussion revolving around guns is whether you and I are safer having them in our possession because our culture is more violent. It's really not a constitutional issue either, that's a political discussion not something that applies in the real world.

You talk about it more than Jesse Jackson.
Yes, and that is beyond sad. Some random white guy cares more about black on black homicide than one of the most visible African American leaders.

Of course Mr. Jackson won't waste his time denouncing black on black homicide because there is no money in it. Liberals won't denounce it because there are votes at stake. Speaking out against black on black homicide might cost votes since other liberals will cry "RACIST!" Despite the destruction caused to black families every day, liberals will continue enslaving the black populace for votes and power just like they have for more than 150 years.

At some point in the future, the message from concerned conservatives will get through, and change will occur. When this happens, liberals will jump on the bandwagon and blame conservatives for years of societal neglect of blacks.

Wash, rinse, repeat. Never an original or actual progressive idea from the left. They only take what was common sense to conservatives and perverse it to the point of harm to the group they claim to have the interests of. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Silly troll. You know what it's about. You'll have to do better than this if you want this thread to hit 5 pages like the last troll.

As a self-avowed statist who thinks cops and military should be the only people empowered with the decision of life and death over their betters, shouldn't you be happy these kind of resources are being applied towards prosecuting someone who murdered a government employee?

Come on, man. It's all or nothing with you people. I finally looked up statist:

"The practice or doctrine of giving a centralized government control over economic planning and policy."

We all have a little statist in us, it's just a matter of degree dont' you think? I'm a total statist when it comes to uranium, weaponied aricraft, chinese imports (lead and formaldehyde testing, etc.) and probably semi-automatic firearms. Not so much with some other stuff.

I have mixed emotions about the resources applied.

This is probably the most accurate way of describing the issue. For awhile now, I've thought that we inherently have a very violent culture in our country (as compared to other nations in western society).
