My son, Brian Phillips, has a new essay out today @theringer.com about his morning walks with his dog, a two year old whippet named Lilybean. Sam Anderson, author of the book about OKC, “Boomtown,” and one of Brian’s friends, insists that Brian writes the most perfect sentences of any writer living today. I present this essay as evidence of Sam’s opinion. Brian gets his abilities from his mother (obviously), but his sentences read as if they just rolled off the tongue, poured out of him by some inner spirit. (Brian says sometimes forming one of his sentences is harder than having his wisdom teeth pulled.). Anyway, I hope you enjoy reading about his walks, and marvel at the sentences as much as Sam and me.
