Sorry I know this is the wrong board and a long post. I bought a cat from the humane society about 6 weeks ago. This cat was tested for feline leukemia and hiv and was negative by the humane society. I noticed a few weeks after I had the cat she had worms so I took her to the vet and decided to get her tested for feline leukemia and hiv by my vet and that test came back positive. I contacted the humane society and they asked me to take the cat to there vet and have the cat tested again and the cat tested negative twice. So I took the cat back to my vet and they took another test and sent it to the lab and it came back negative which was good but they sent in the fist sample they took that tested positive and the lab results came back that that test was legitimately was a positive test. So basically the lab came back with 1 positive and 1 negative test. They are saying they thing this cat actually had the feline leukemia but has somehow fought it off and does not have it now. So I guess I have to ask is this possible? and if so I have another cat that has her vaccinations is this cat in danger of being infected?
