Each state has "electors" for both sides, nothing at all stopping both sets going to DC.......but, in Navada, ( and in a few other state) the Democrats won and the election was certified, the GOP electors filled out documents indicating that they won the state and sent those electors and those documents to Congress as the winners of the state...that's fraud...and they now have corroborating evidence that Trump and his team coordinated all of this.......that is illegal.......the Dems have sent alternate electors also, but they were not dumb enough ( I know hard to believe) to sign the fraudulent documents and present them to Congress as the real thing
There is no law about it. The electors were sent because they believed the elections were the fraud, and they believed they would have enough corroborating evidence to back that up.
Not so, again look at the 1960 election. The change was conducted after the certification.
You mean like recounts that were still being conducted in Arizona and contested results in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia because of tabulation errors as well some very dubious behavior from election officials that were also in question.
That courts had ruled that they were not going to hear the cases at that time. Most of the cases were simply dismissed without a second thought. However, there was still litigation still pending in the courts in all states that sent alternative electors. Also the case to make Rudy pay was not litigated until well after the election, meaning the case was still in the courts, and that case could have gone either way. So yes, it applies to the usage of alternative electors even if Rudi ends up the loser of the case it justifies the usage of the alternative electors as the decision was not finalized at the time.
