I think Ford is great in a lot of aspects of his job. He is great with the media, fans, alums, is a high energy guy, can recruit, and is a good representative for OSU basketball. Unfortunately the thing that the guy struggles with happens to be the biggest part of his job and that's coaching. The guy is just not a good basketball coach. Last night was a good example of his short comings as a coach and there have been many more. The problem that we have is that landing big time recruits could overshadow his shortcomings coaching, but missing on a few has put us in a situation where there is no end in sight when it comes to being mediocre.

We will be lucky to make the tournament this year. Next year we lose Hickey, Nash, and Cobbins. We have a stud PG coming in and an athletic big, but a guy who is a project. None of the young guys we have look to really have promising enough futures for us to have a big year down the road. Shine looks like he could turn into a nice player and Solomon looks like he will be a great contributor and valuable guy for his career. Other than that does it look like Hammonds, Carroll, Burton, or Griffin would turn into good solid starters in this league? I am afraid the answer is no. So you have to think next year we will be in the same situation of hoping to make the tourney. Unless we land some big time recruits the year after that will probably be the same with the young guys that we have now. So when do we realize this and just move on? As of today the future of OSU basketball does not look promising.
