No Dice

in Oklahoma casinos. The back ass legislature has stalled the process of allowing dice in Oklahoma casinos. They are clueless and not allowing dice does not change anything in regards to gambling problems...it would however bring in more money and I would actually go to an Oklahoma casino even with the .50 cent ante. A casino with no dice is a big joke already and the clueless legislature is impeding progress.....!!

I had no idea that dice games were not allowed in OK casinos. What is the reasoning behind this? In their minds, what makes Craps different from Blackjack, poker, roulette, etc?

no roulette either....they play both card craps and card roulette (not all casinos but the bigger ones) but with cards it ruins it. TA...why haven't the tribes figured that out yet? You'd think that if there was a way to do it they would have it there. When they tore down Fountainhead at Lake Eufaula they said they were coming back with a big casino and hotel...that was about 3 or 4 years ago and so far nothing. You know casinos are making a killing so there are many things going on that don't make sense. The Creek tribe bought it back in 2005 for $2.0 million. The land still sits empty. You'd think that would be a perfect spot for a casino/hotel, but maybe too much heat from the stipes tribe!! I have no idea on why its still a vacant piece of valuable land, but thought I would throw that out there.

The Iowa tribe is taking over Perkins. Rodeo grounds, mechanic, t shirt shop are the small fries. They just bought the golf course though so in seven years you will be able to play some black jack at the turn. Plans for hotel as well. Goodbye my personal Mayberry!

Somehow the state pact with between the tribes and the state government specified that Cards are 'games of skill' and thus allowed, but dice and roulette are pure games of chance. Most other games fall under Class 2 gaming laws vs. class 3 and thus are allowed. You'll notice if you play the slot machines, that they provide a mini-bingo card as part of the 'pull'. This is done to electronically align the machine to Class 2 gaming rather than the 'class 3' gaming that slots would normally fall under.

"Somehow" Each tribe has a compact. The ones I am familiar with do not exclude any type of game. What was written is a vague reference in the law allowing tribes to gamble. They reference what is allowed at tracks. Well black jack and poker are not allowed at tracks. Tribes would not be allowed to offer these if that is the case. Roulette and craps are offered but not with actual balls and dice. The intent was to stop "easily" manipulated games. The problem is the compacts gave the tribes a lot of power and gave the state literally no enforcement. As long as the Tribes pay the state will do nothing. Even if the state reported to the NIGC the Feds would do nothing as balls and are provisioned in IGRA and the MICs and they would just say are you following the controls. So yes technically they are allowed.

you'd think it would take more than just one idiot to block things but unfortunately it doesn't. From what I read it can be re-addressed but you've got to jump through a lot of hoops and it will take a lot of time. We have a bunch of backward morons running the show, so to speak.

Just like I said they haven't figured it out yet. Give it time and it will happen. These things take time and the right people to buck the system.

The tribes are looking for ways to make money just like anyone else. How many times have businesses left cash on the table unknowingly. It happens all the time.

I'm sure it drives some people crazy but it was negotiated before most of us were born. Are you wanting black people to be sovereign nations or disband all native tribal recognition?

Well, surely some african tribes can be reconstituted and given sovereign status, exempt from taxation and business regulation like Indian tribes. Maybe just transfer tribal sovereignty over from the current tribes to the Zulus, Mandingos, etc. The indians have hogged all the sovereignty for a long time, lets spread it around a little. It'll be expensive getting it off the ground but the initial african tribal reparations could just come from non-DBE employers' payroll tax.
