Neil Peart has passed

and I am broken.

Died of brain cancer Tuesday. That had to be the most closely held secret ever. Nobody even those in the business had a clue of it.

Was just getting ready to post this... Horrible horrible news. Just a giant not only as a drummer, but as a writer.

As a joe-schmo local musician, seeing RUSH live was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

They should do a tour with all-star drummers playing different legs of the tour. THAT would be an incredible epic tribute.
I've never met a drummer who didn't worship him.

Saw them in 1981 and again in 2010. My kids grew to love them listening while I did. This is a gut punch. One of my favorite bands.

Saw them in Dallas in 94. Bought tickets from a scalper and ended up 4th row center. One of the best concerts ever. I had heard of Peart’s reputation, but there is no way to fully grasp his talent without seeing it live and up close. RIP.
