If you don't know about this Dual team tournament, you are probably not alone and yet it will be held at GIA next Wednesday 12/21 and Thursday 12/22 and will feature 16 of the top High School teams in the country. Very little or none publicity about this tournament but Flo wrestling will carry all 40 matches live. I got a email about this from the Hall of fame 3 days ago and I purchased tickets from our ticket office but the individual on the phone helping me did not even know about it until he asked his supervisor. Someone dropped the ball on this publicity-wise. In any event here are the details.
The sixteen High school teams are divided into 4 pools of 4. Pool A Allen HS, Loyola Academy(Wilmette,, Il), St. Joseph Regional (Montvale NJ, Stillwater High School
Pool B Blackwell, OK HS, Delbarton HS (Montrose, NJ), Liberty HS, (Liberty,Mo) Pomona HS (Arvada,Co.)
Pool C Bixby HS, Poway HS(Poway, Ca.), St Pius X HS (KC,MO.) Tuttle HS
Pool D Derby HS (Derby, Ks), Edmond North HS, Lake Highland Prep (Orlando, Fl.) James Martin HS (Arlington, Tx.)
The first session is at 9AM on 12/21 and each team will wrestle 3 duals in their individual pools and the top team in each pool will be in the Gold pool the following day. Final session will be 12/22 3-5pm determining 1st through 8th place. There will be a post event banquet that includes awards and a round-table discussion with Distinguished members John Smith and Dan Gable. Each team will have a guided tour of the NWHOF.

Ethan Kyle spoke with Seth about this last month. He said all the top teams from last season were invited starting with #1 and working down. Some had previous commitments (Stillwater would normally be at the KC Stampede this weekend). They ended up getting 12 of last year's top 45 teams. They hope it will be a big event going forward.

It's good news because it's basically an unofficial visit. Flo held WNO in Carver before and this is a chance for prospective recruits to experience GIA and Stillwater. Hopefully the attendance is good.

Haven’t heard much about it other than what Seth and Adam have tweeted about it several weeks ago. Really good point on the unofficial visit for these kids. Wonder if that was the hidden agenda from the start. Hopefully this dual torny gains traction and turns into something big.
