Narrative #4576 just blew up.

Quite the head scratcher. Maybe they're..... lying?

Look how Brad supports lying. He ridicules anyone that points it out.

Don't be so sad, Syster.

You too can win.

If they do not have such a policy why do they do it?
Well, technically, if the kids are with an adult(s) who isn't a family member (might be specifically parent) on arrival, they get separated from the adult(s) for safety. If the parent(s) is being prosecuted for breaking the law, kids can't be detained for more than 20 days, so the kids are placed with family in the US if available or in DHHS care if not while the parents are detained. Not much different than US citizens who have been detained for a crime.

At least that's what I understand from reading about it.

That is one of your most distasteful posts ever and that is really saying something. Sometimes I enjoy getting you out of your rut but not at this price. It's too much. Even Alf wouldn't post that. Okay, Alf probably proudboi'd to it, but you know what I mean. Dayum dude. You may have just started something here. Dwight. Brad. Lot of similarities to hash through.

See Dwight's socks? He got em' cheap. Just isolating this conversation to his choice of socks, you're all in on that aren't you? You can save what.... $38 a year wearing those 5 for $3 dress socks? If you'd hire a good illegal housekeeper she'd handle that laundry for you, you'd have pristine white socks to wear to work, and everybody's a winner.

This is your final lifecoaching session: You should open your wallet and welcome the illegals and make some relationships. Let's face it, your best option for a decent lifemate is exploiting a penniless refugee. Ideally one that can't understand you.

Think of the money you can generate by paying a housekeeper $10 per hour to do your laundry and moisturize your bench-style, virgin vinyl, pickup seat so you're freed up to work. Plus, if you move in the right Guatemalan that's on the run - say, a third generation field whore - she'll embrace the parsimony and be impressed with the incelmobile. You rejected my last solution for your sitch, this is next best. Look south.

Well, let’s see. A three year old makes the trek from Guatemala with her 21 year old mother, A mother that speaks a specific dialect from her district in Guatemala. A mother that has endured economic and physical hardship those of us in America have never seen. A mother with less than a grade school education, who can barely read or write. A mother who has been told of a land to the north where she can make something of herself, she can pull herself out of the grinding poverty she has known her whole life. A land where she can raise her daughter to enjoy good health, personal safety, an education.

The three year old knows nothing about any of this. All she knows is she and her mother have traveled, mostly on foot, for days and days, have gone hungry, have been rained on, have hidden from threats she doesn’t understand. All she knows is her mother is her whole life.

They arrive at the American border, sneak across and get caught. The three year old doesn’t know or understand any of this. She doesn’t know where she is, where she’s been or where she’s from. All she knows is she’s with her mother who has nurtured her, fed her and protected her her whole life.

But the US has decided to alter its policy. It will now criminally charge every person entering illegally, which gives them a criminal record, meaning they can not ever enter the US again without being charged with a felony. The mother is hauled off to a cell. The three year old is taken away from her mother, her whole life. She is terrified (wouldn’t you be?). She was torn from her mother’s protective grasp, her mother sobbing, begging the authorities not to take her child, naturally being hysterical, which terrifies the child even more. The three year old is whisked away, put on a bus or a plane and completely separated from her mother. She arrives at the child detention center, shaking with fear, calling out for her mother, absolutely desperate. She is housed with other children who have experienced the same trauma. She is not allowed to be embraced, held, spoken softly to. No adult is allowed to touch her.

But, hell, it’s only for 20 days or so, and then she will be put in a wonderful government housing facility. So, I suppose, that makes everything alright. HSHarry assures is she is better off. What more assurance do we need?

I am not a Christian. Do not believe in God, don’t go to a church. But I try to practice Christian ethics in my life. Do unto others, things like that. There is no way I would want others to do those things to me. What our government has done to that three year old and her mother is indescribably evil. To think otherwise is contrary to Christian ethics. This country should not be doing these things to these children.

Dan,
Mighty rich of you in your folksy way to get after people whose tenants you don't feel are being enacted HOW YOU interpret them.

Sounds like you know the Bible cover to cover and are pretty close with a God you don't believe in.

Let me spare myself more time and cut to the chase, you find God, educate yourself more than a verse or 2 deep, then come back and maybe expect that your lecturing might be taken as something intended as edifying instead of the pompous spewing it really is.

Yes, I can see how you would regard what I wrote as pompous spewing. You are probably correct. Somewhere in the Bible it probably says it’s OK to do what our government does. Since the Bible says it’s a good Christian thing to take babies from their mothers, maybe the law should be changed so we as individual citizens could snap up any child we felt would be better under our care. Is that what you think? Or am I being too pompous here?

No, Cathy Newman, that's not what I'm saying.

Maybe I would understand what you wrote if I knew who Cathy Newman is.
A bit of an icon in the Incel boyz club. She had a run in with the Messiah some time back.

Peterson acolytes threatened her life after a combative interview. In fairness, she over simplified much of the world salad that Dr. Peterson was spewing.

It means try not to put words in people's mouths and you'll come across as desiring a dialogue instead of painting a picture of what you believe the other to be or represent.

David's remark is sadly inadequate.

So where in my monologue did I put words in anyone else’s mouth? I painted a picture of how I see the situation. Please feel free to paint your own picture and we can “dialogue” about the differences.

"Kids started appearing at the shelter who didn't 'know the drill.' They had just been separated from their parents, so they were experiencing an increased amount of trauma," says Antar Davidson, who worked for Southwest Key, a nonprofit that operates more than two dozen shelters for migrant children from Texas to California.

Davidson quit this week because the shelter where he worked in Tucson, Ariz., didn't have the trained staffing to handle the influx of younger, more traumatized children, he says.

The breaking point for Davidson came, he says, when he was asked to tell two siblings, ages 6 and 10, that they couldn't hug each other. "They called me over the radio. And they wanted to translate to these kids that the rule of the shelter is that they are not allowed to hug," he says. "And these are kids that had just been separated from their mom — basically just huddling and hugging each other in a desperate attempt to remain together." Southwest Key says it has a clear policy that allows touching and hugging in certain circumstances.

Frankly, I'm stunned that you posted her picture. And yours. You do understand what the consequences of that could be? I'm a lib, and a loving, nice guy but still....

Post a pic of you and I’ll decide if he has anything to worry about. :D
