What a great feeling to have very tough choices to make. I won't be surprised to see the starters change from game to game. Sixth and seventh men may challenge for starters' minutes every game. Look who my five leaves on the bench:
Averette --won't challenge to start without injury
Dziagwa -- too good a scorer to stay on the bench
Carroll -- needs to stop getting down on himself
McGriff -- he'll find his way to the floor
Waters -- (see McGriff)
Dillard -- lots of minutes available for him at multiple spots with better mental prep
N'Guessan -- 2-3 minutes available to spell Solomon -- he's better than you think
Lienhard -- no, really, a walk-on with size who's actually pretty good under the bucket
We have a lot more talent than the polls realize. Don't be shocked if we're still playing a 10-man rotation in January.
If we run the defense I expect to see (and we will), players are going to need rests. HCBU preaches unselfishness and we'll see that manifested in plug-and-play substitutions.
