spending a week in the promised land and looking for options beyond the obvious choices...

The wife and I love Boba Fusion Cafe. It's in the back of that dump of a shopping center north of Perkins Road Wal-Mart. They've got some really good unique Asian dishes. They also have sushi which is supposed to be good but my two favorites are 3 Cup Chicken and Fusion Noodles. You can add 1-5 spice level. Do not go above 3 unless you really like hot.

Thai loco (Asian Mexican fusion tacos)
Tokyo pot (shabu shabu)
Granny’s
Red rock

El Vaq, Joe's, Coney Island (haven't been back in over 5 years, so hopefully all are still there...of course Joe's is).

That sounds very similar to Cafe 88 next to campus that we often go to when we're in Stillwater. Going above a 3 on their spiciness scale can really clean you out.

Nana's (authentic Mexican, not the TV dinner style of the El Tap's and El Vaq's of Stillwater).
The Garage
T.S. Fork (5 Star Quality)

Where is nana?
It's on Main Street (132 S Main St, Stillwater, OK 74074), several blocks north of 6th and just south of the old Blue Room bar, on the east side of the street. It's authentic Mexican (buffet style). They even have a little grocery store set up inside the restaurant.

Went there today on this recommendation. What a total let down I wouldn't give the place one star. Was more like a day care, horrible atmosphere, no customers just a bunch of kids running around. Buffet was closed so I was going to order tamales, they didn't have any so I ordered a quesadilla and a soft drink $12.50. They were out of salsa, OUT OF SALSA! It has a Mexican grocery store inside for crying out loud. Could of got just as good at Taco Bueno for $7.

No wonder there's never any cars parked in front. El Vaquero is better than this place and I think El Vaquero is crap.

Damn!! My experience was total opposite!! This absolutely sucks and I'm embarrassed that I recommended the place. Feel like I owe you dinner...

Not your fault I'd been wanting to go in there for awhile. The little kid that greeted me tried to warn me. I went about 2:30 she kept saying the buffet is closed and I was the one who wanted to order from the menu.

It just wasnt what I was expecting and I thought the prices were very high most items where priced over $10 the quesadilla was one the less expensive items and it was 10 bucks.
