Mason Rudolph B-, especially yesterday, I thought he had a mediocre first half. Several balls thrown way to high. Room for improvement. Maybe I expected too much from him to begin the season. Still, I can see a much higher ceiling.
Chris Carson B, it's hard to downgrade him when he gets hit in the backfield on half his carries. Saw a couple of nice runs last night that prove he can be our premier back this year. We need to give him some more time and a few more holes.
Offensive line C- I can't tell if both teams we played truly sold out to stop the run like Hunziker said last night after the game. If so, I could go higher on the grade. They are doing a good job of providing pass protection for Rudolph.
Wide receivers A-, a few dropped balls in the first game. None that I remember last night. Great catches by Washington in both games. Glidden is sure handed. I really like what he has done so far. Shepherd must still have lingering issues with dislocated finger. When will we see Keenan Brown? I am anxious to see him. I think he will be a beast.
Defensive line B+. Been extremely pleased with the progress inside guys have shown. Taylor, Maile, Daniels all have impressed.
Linebackers C+. I guess I would like to see them more active in the passing game and have 1 or 2 picks so far. Seems like most of the time the guys they cover on shorter routes have been open. They have been tackling well, I give them that.
Defensive Backs C +, only one interception in two games. Def line is getting good penetration, so I don't know why we haven't gotten a couple more picks.
Overall, The defense has been good against the running game.
Special teams C-. Maybe this is too high with two botched PAT's. That's very scary for the rest of the year! Punt returns have not been well blocked at all. KO returns pretty much the same.
