Self fulfilling prophecy.....they are so desperate to have stories like this be true that objectivity, common sense and good ole investigative journalism are sacrificed to feed a common theme which they want to be true regardless of all the signs pointing to the opposite conclusion.

So much of journalism is nothing more than feeding a spokesfool some unfounded tidbit of information to see it get repeated not due to it being "fact," but because it fits the narrative they so desperately want to be true.

Journalism died a couple of decades ago. There is no investigative journalism. It's all about Googling and reprinting stories from the AP or Reuters. The real investigative journalists work for British media.
