So the Tyree Griffin thread got me to thinking... what exactly are we getting in Averette as the heir apparent for backup PG duties?
I did some digging on Youtube and found some older highlights of his. He's been a standout player ever since his JV days. Seems like one of those kids who always stands out from the crowd. I have no idea why he was so lightly recruited... maybe he just needed someone to believe in him. I'm glad Underwood stuck with him, because Brandon certainly stuck with HCBU. He strikes me as the kind of kid who will ask "How high?" when HCBU says "Jump" from Day 1 of practices.
I'm not expecting to be floored by a true freshman with only one other D-1 offer out of high school. BUT, I get the sense we landed a potential gem in Mr. Averette.
