Is it too early to start rethinking the Manafort trial? Hell no. It’s what we do around here!

So if you’re the defense, your jury pool comes from a heavily democrat area. There’s just no way you get a juror who hasn’t heard about this case before the trial started. All you need is one juror for a mistrial, but the prosecution will come after you again. They’re not going to let this go.

From the outside, you seem to have a judge who is rough on the prosecution. That doesn’t necessarily mean the judge is sympathetic to your cause, but he’s certainly not sympathetic towards the prosecution, either.

So would you have chosen a jury trial or bench trial in this case? What can you read between he lines about their choice of a jury trial?

I’ll be a shower of water where and when I please and no I’m not interested in your offers of ancient copulation, I appreciate it though, ;)
Actually, that’s not correct at all. A person can become so annoying that they are ignored. And in that regard, the choice is indeed yours to make.

That’s an alternative definition to be sure, but you are correct, ignorance is a choice and for you all you have to do is hit that button.

Excuses here, get your hot take excuses right here. Come one come all.
Meanwhile, would you have chosen a bench or jury trial in this case?

Frankly, I think the choice of a jury trial is telling. I think the defense knows he’s guilty and that a just-the-facts judge would zero in on the elements of the crime and would very unemotionally find him guilty. That’s just me. I’d be interested in a trial lawyer’s take on that.

Not sure how this issue amounts to searching for excuses, but whatever.

Just busting balls, that’s why I’m being pedantic and silly. I think you nailed it on the head with this post. He knows he’s guilty and is taking that Omertà like oath pretty seriously. I believe he hopes for a mistrial or a pardons and that’s it. I also don’t think the government needs him to flip.

Apologies for not spotting the ball busting earlier.

Meaning Trump has committed no crimes or meaning that they have the goods on Trump without Manafort?
Meaning the Government has the goods without Pauly walnuts. There are over 1000 exhibits the government has presendet the defense for his next trial, the defense is already complaint abou there being too much evidence to go through and try to defend.

Context is so hard to read over text and I can be very abbrasive and of putting if you don’t know I’m joking, and 60% of the time I’m joking every time. I take this all very seriously which is why I have to blow off steam on the interwebs.

Predicting a win for the prosecution. Trump makes noise about a pardon, then someone suggests he wait until the second trial concludes which pisses Minnefort off just enough that he decides to cooperate in exchange for a dismissal of remaining charges and reduced sentencing recommendations... the judge however doesn't play ball and the whole thing is a distraction through the midterms.

Trump makes noise about a pardon,.

I don't see him doing that. I would expect him to play off the prosecution (assuming that occurs) as having nothing to do with him and/or his campaign and then issue a pardon during the lame duck portion of his time in office.

You could be right, I could see it popping up and the POTUS allowing it to hang in the air enjoying all the consternation his lack of statements distract the opposition from other issues.
