For me, shutting out 3 teams in a row - BYU, Maryland, and Northwestern ( 2 of those teams ranked) is more domination than scoring 50 or 60 points 3 games in a row.
Can you imagine having a defense so dominating, that any score wins the game? That is like having a pitcher in baseball that goes out and throws a 9 inning shut out.
Michigan is playing some serious football and getting some great coaching to do that in an era of high scoring offenses, kinda hard to fathom to some degree. Big 12 is so in love with high scoring games that Michigan doing this and gets little attention in this area of the country it appears, but IMO it is super impressive.
Yes sir, give me one of those shut out defenses, widens your window for victory so large it is hard not to win.
I would love nothing better than our defense to hold Baylor and TCU to 14 points or less, that is what would really shock the football world, not just beating them, but dominating them on defense and giving them a beat down.
Am I the only one that came away that impressed with this accomplishment? K-State was the last team to have 3 shutouts in a row (1995) and I bet it happened against lesser competition.
I am not much of a Michigan fan but I am really impressed with that defense, Ohio State - Mich could be a war. Mich / Mich St this week should be pretty good as well.
