Nice! The US needs to tone down it's willingness to approach things with hostility.
There's a reason Iran covets nuclear weapons and it isn't to nuke Israel. It would provide a very effective deterrent against the blood guzzling USA.
The North Korean fat man is goofy, but he's not stupid. North Korea has a formidable initial offense/defense, but with shortages of simple things like food, how much sustained combat power could they actually muster? Once again, a nuclear weapon is the ultimate deterrent. And why not? They are still technically at war.
Our government still behaves as if communism is a threat to the free world. It's no more a threat today than it actually was previously. The only real threat is the continuous projection of threat by the US. After being threatened daily by the huge and powerful schoolyard bully, at some point the bullied is going to arm themselves for defense of a possible aggression. The bullied knows the bully will be less likely to engage in a physical confrontation when he knows the bullied has a .357 revolver in his front pocket. Force multiplication only makes sense to the bullied with limited resources and the nuclear weapon is the greatest equalizer on the planet.
