A year ago, McGriff was at his best when he attacked the rim -- and the glass -- with authority. His 20-point performances in wins over Kansas and West Virginia were backed by 8-of-13 shooting inside the arc and 18 made free throws.
His style has changed dramatically this year. Through eight Big 12 games, McGriff has attempted 47 2s and 40 3s. He took just 24 3-pointers in the entirety of Big 12 play a year ago.
Part of that comes with added attention. Jeffrey Carroll, Kendall Smith and Mitchell Solomon aren't stealing the looks that allowed McGriff to get in position inside.
But OSU needs renewed energy from him inside. McGriff doesn't have an offensive rebound in his last three games. Prior to that, he had multiple offensive boards in nine consecutive games.
